"The trip today to Bosworth
Battlefield was great - we found out lots of interesting facts
about Richard III and the person who defeated him in the War of
the Roses - Henry VII I think. The best part was in the
afternoon when we went to the exhibition - it was so kwl. We had
some chained armour and nobody could lift it, so I took my
strength and put it on but I couldn't get it off again :( Haha!
Thank you." - Courtney Evans 5AD, 22/04/08
"I was a student at 'Stockingford
Middle School' as it was back in 1993 - 1996.
"Hey every 1 - hows u. Hi Miss

good time at Alderman Smith. Hope 2 c u all soon." - Jennifer
Ley
Hey everyone that's in
Stockingford. I'm missing the skool sooo much. Sounds like you
guys are havin loads of fun there. If someone could say hii to
Mrs Naughton that would be great, and if you tell Mrs Kelsall I
said thanks for my Xmas card and missing her 2. To any Year 6's
coming up to Alderman it is realii fun i was really scared at
first, but believe me there is so many friends you can make when
you go there, and also there are loads of clubs like: dance
football, trampoline and loads more. Also there is an anti
bullying club too, where you have loads of fun. OK then - I got
to go now. Thanks to whoever tells Mrs Kelsall and Mrs Naughton
what i said. xx" - Chelsea Mallabone
"Hi everyone, spelling champion
here. I've just gotta say Year 6 rocks!! Although Year 6 is a
bit hard going and I do miss lessons with my class teacher - Mrs
Morrisey, it's worth it in the end. I love school life at SJS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
- Shannon Liddle
"I remember four years ago when I
went on that Black Country Museum trip. It was really good, and
the first prom we ever had was the DEFINITE BEST!!!" - Lucy
Holland
"This site is fab. On Dickenson
Day it was great - we had a funny morning in our class (5AD).
Before class started we had to line up on the playground in
lines from each class - a boy's line and a girl's line - but
nobody did! We went inside having a laugh and Mrs Doyle came out
looking scary and everyone screamed and ran . Then we went in -
girls first and then boys. Mrs Doyle did the register and the
people before me said "Good morning Mrs Doyle, but I said in the
way that the Victorians would say it - "Yes Ma'am" and then
everyone after me in the register copied me. Then we made gift
bags, boxes and stockings and after lunch we went to Mrs Logan's
class and made a mess making mince pies and chocolate truffles.
The truffles were lush!. After lunch we went into Mr Talbots
class and made Christmas crackers and christingles. We had a
cracking time! After that we did carol singing around the school
outside in the freezzzzzzzing cold! - Courtney Evans
"I can't believe I'm not part of
the school no more - it's wierd. I miss all the teachers there
and it's strange with them not teaching me. I am now at Alderman
Smith, and am loving it - not a much as Stockingford though! Say
hello to Mrs Kelsall and Mrs Naughton for me anyone! Thanks x" -

"On 12th July 2007 it was the
year 6 Prom. Me. Scarlett, Olivia and Dalton arrived in a horse
and carriage. IT WAS WICKED!" - Leanne Todd
"On 22nd June, some Year Six's
went to Kingswood! It was wicked!! There were lots of activities
including Go Karts, Quads, Climbing, Zip Line, Abseiling and
Aeroball. There was also an activity called 'Nightline' which is
where you had to crawl through mud and puddles. YUK!!! We came
back on 25th June." - Leanne Todd
"On Monday the 25th of June a few
children from Year 6 came back from a fantastic trip to
Kingswood Centre. We went on the Friday and came back on the
Monday. My favourite activity was the zip line I was the second
person to go on it, it was scary at first but as soon as I got
going I loved it!!! We also did lots of other things like:
Areoball, Quad Bikes, Go Karting and Canoe Splash also lots of
other things. On the Friday night we had a Campfire and did:
Jokes, Ghost Stories and our most embarrassing moments (I had
plenty of them to tell). On the Saturday night we had a Disco in
the Gym and on the Sunday night we did Karaoke. It was lots of
good fun and I'm sure all the people who went - including the
teachers - enjoyed it too." - Chelsea Mallabone "I was a pupil at the school from about 1942 to 1946 while my father was away in a POW camp. I remember the day I joined as we were given a slate and a ball of wool and I was terrified because I did not know how to knit. Before we could sit down the Air Raid siren went and I had to wait what seemed ages down the shelter before I found out the wool was to clean the slate. Funny I don't remember being afraid of the bombs." "We had to go to sleep every afternoon and we slept on the floor in lines as I was only three when I first went." "All my aunts and my Mother Annice Overy nee Ridgeway went to the school and she remembered getting two slices of bread for breakfast during the miners strike and taking one home for her Dad while her sister Mary took one home for their Mum." "We lived at 59 Cross Street then but now I live in Abbotsford British Columbia. Did anyone take any pictures when they unearthed the air raid shelter?" - Bill Overy (Billy Ridgeway)
Mr Overy -
Thank you so much for getting in touch. How fantastic to hear
from an ex-pupil who now lives many miles away. We have recently
celebrated our school centenary and have been trying to collect
memories from people who spent time here. We would love to hear
more. If you have any more school memories to share with us,
please get in touch via the guest book. If you feel able to
provide us with your email address that would be great - we
would of course not publish it or pass it on to any other party.
Thanks again. "Hi - the best teachers at SJS are Miss Selby and Mrs Kelsall!!" - Sophie Bastock "Hey all you kids at SJS. Did you have a great 2 days off in the snow?? You know Sophie Bastock? - she is the bestest friend ever, and so is crazy Sarah Jayne Wilson. Have a nice holiday - see you after half-term" - Leanne Todd "Hey my old pals! How's it going? Missing you all and promise to come and see you when we have a training day. Please tell Miss Watts that she is the best teacher ever. Miss you all, bye for now!" - Shannon Fitzsimons "I went on the London trip as a student. I think that we should do things like this more often. It was really cool." - Year 6 Student "Jingle bell, Jingle bell, Jingle bell rock! The Christmas concerts were great and the Year 3 and 4 concert rocked with Hosanna Rock!! The Year 5 and 6 concert rocked and rolled with the Rock and Roll Medley! The drama group put a lot of effort into the play and I really liked the acrobats and dancers, especially when Chantelle's boot zips got stuck together and she waddled off the mats!" - Jessica Todd
"Hi there! I just have to say it
is yet again another successful year at SJS! "The best teacher ever! Miss Selby has made this term wicked" - Leanne Todd "A most informative and well laid out website. I especially enjoyed the history of the school. Keep up the good work!" - Mark Harwood (Father of Kimberley Harwood)
"Hello - I'm in this school in
Year 4 (Mrs Doyle's class). In Year 3 I was in Mrs Stephenson's
class. We have got a new boy in our class - he came in on Monday
4th of December 2006 & his name is Obrial. Yesterday it was
Roman Night & I had a great time there because we got to make
butter, mosaics, jewellery and also we got to taste all
different foods like bread, dormice, tuna, salmon, grapes and
loads of other things" - Courtney Evans "Miss Lowe, my new teacher in year 4 is great!! I miss Miss Boyd loads" - Jessica Todd "I am having a great time at your school. I am in Year 6 and when I leave I am going to miss all of my favourite teachers" - Sophie Bastock "I'm missing all the teachers and the teaching assistants. I am going into year 5 in September so I would like to have a happy time then. I would also to thank all of the teachers especially Mr Talbot! I was so embarrassed when I saw the pic of Mr Talbot's Class Assembly!" - Rebecca Adey "The site is great!" - Courtney Evans "Hi, I recently attended your centenary assembly and can say that my sister Kim Penney (nee Grundy) and myself both enjoyed ourselves and had a laugh at the things we did like Watching the Clock outside the Head Mistresses Office. You knew you were in trouble if you had to do that. I can't remember all the names of my teachers but a few stick in my memory...Mr McGraw.. Mrs Robinson.. Mrs Dyed.. Mrs Bridgewater and last but not least Miss Garner.. boy was she strict. I am glad that I had the opportunity to visit my past and memories. My last year in school here was 1979 in Miss Garners class" - Lorraine Grundy
